Other Places, Other Times
My husband’s work since 1997 has taken him to every continent except Antarctica and sometimes I traveled with him; opportunities to visit India, Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Ethiopia were too wonderful to resist. In 2011 he accepted a long-term post in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, we sold our home in Washington DC, and moved to Tbilisi. The stories in Other Places, Other Times document some of these travels and exchanges with people and cultures far outside of the familiar. Our lives are immeasurably richer for every encounter.
